The collection facilities of Vantaa City Museum

The collection facilities of Vantaa City Museum are used to store collections of items, images and archives. The collection facilities also have a customer service point. Study original photos and search for and browse digital material in the museum database. Always arrange an appointment in advance.

The facilities are located in the basement of Hiekkaharju School. You can find the entrance at the end of the ramp, when you turn left from the school entrance. The entrance is accessible.

Arrival

By train: The closest station is Hiekkaharju. The distance from the Hiekkaharju primary school is 1 km. There is an HSL city bike station both at the station and close to the Hiekkaharju primary school.

By bus: Bus 619 from Tikkurila will take you next to the Hiekkaharju primary school, while bus 641 will take you to Koivukyläntie at a distance of 500 metres.

The route to the main entrance

The 2 accessible parking spaces are located outdoors over 10 m from the entrance. The width of the parking spaces is less than 3.6 m.

The main entrance

The entrance stands out clearly and is illuminated. There is a canopy above the entrance.
The entrance has a ramp under 6 m long.
The doors connected to the entrance stand out clearly. Outside the door there is sufficient room for moving e.g. with a wheelchair. The door requires the use of a buzzer and is heavy.
