Vantaa City Museum's exhibition space is at the old Tikkurila station. In addition, the museum arranges exhibitions and events at Håkansböle manor. We choose the themes of the exhibitions from Vantaa's history of 10,000 years.

There is always free admission to the city museum's exhibitions. You can find the opening hours of the exhibitions as well as information on the events held by the museum in the Vantaa Event Calendar.

On the Units page, you can find information on the locations, services and accessibility of the museum’s exhibition spaces.

A safe museum visit

Safer space principles

Vantaa City Museum is a discrimination-free zone. Our museum does not tolerate any discrimination, humiliation, derision, or bullying. We respect one another's mental and physical states.

We do not make assumptions based on, for example, sex, background, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, functional capacity, or wealth.

Please adhere to these principles when visiting our museum and using our services.

If you notice any inappropriate treatment at our library, do not hesitate to contact an employee of Vantaa City Museum. We will try to help to the best of our ability. You can also submit feedback on the Oma Vantaa online service.

Book a guided tour for your group

You can book a guided tour of the exhibitions at the City Museum by contacting the museum lecturer. Contact information can be found at the bottom of the page.

Even if your group does not need a guided tour, we would love to hear about your visit in advance. This allows us to ensure that there is enough room in the exhibition spaces and your group can enjoy the best museum experience possible.

When making the reservation, you should let us know if you have any special wishes about the guided tour – we can tailor the content of the guided tour based on the needs of the group, if necessary.

Remote guided tours

Would you like to learn more about the exhibition via a remote connection? You can reserve a remote guided tour for your group, implemented with the Teams application. For further information, please contact the museum lecturer (contact information at the bottom of the page). The prices of a remote guided tour are the same as those of a normal guided tour of the exhibition.

Want to go to the museum with a friend?

Ask an art and culture companion! The art and culture companion are trained peer instructors who are familiar with the cultural services in Vantaa, and their services are free of charge.

A suitcase of memories

Centres for the elderly and service homes can order a suitcase exhibition with a guide from the museum. The miniature exhibition contains objects and images people can look at while talking about past decades and sharing memories.

A museum tour guide or an art and culture companion of the City of Vantaa is responsible for transporting and presenting the suitcase exhibition. The service is free of charge, duration: approx. 1 hour.‍ For further information and reservations, please contact the museum lecturer (contact information at the bottom of the page).
